Giovanni Travis, age 26 passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017.
Giovanni “Gino Gee” Travis was born on March 21, 1991 in Akron, Ohio to Kristen Bryant and Recardo Whatley. Gino gained his wings on July 9, 2017. He was a beloved son, father, brother, nephew and uncle and loved all of his family and friends very much.
Gino had an infectious smile and could charm his way into almost anything. He had a special way of making anyone that got close to him feel loved. He always wanted to look good and smell good even if it meant taking two or three showers a day. Gino was a visionary and oftentimes would sit and talk about the things that he wanted to do and the things that he wanted to achieve out of life. He had a passion for his music and has many compilations that are in circulation today. He wanted to live the good life and wanted to always bring his family and friends into dreaming with him. Although, some of his stories were not always believable, Gino would throw that favorite line to you “For real though, let me just tell you this…”, and if you listened, you would be sucked into his plan.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Irene Malone; Uncle Ronnie Cannon; Aunt Alisa Cannon and his brothers Ronnie Travis (2Lu) and Recardo Travis (Ricky).
He leaves in his memory his parents, Kristen (Fred) Bryant and Recardo Whatley; son, Giovanni Travis Jr; siblings, Chauncy Travis, Ashley Fitzgerald, Ricarda, Shanique, Amonda, Savanna, and Anthony Smart, Alivia, Recardo, Aiden, Skyi, Asia Whatley, and Shamar Antoine; grandparents, Reverend Christine Travis and Connie Preston Travis Sr; special friends Markisha, Mike T. (Supa) and Ja’Meesha.
Aunts, Nannette Jackson, Carolyn (Ronnie) Bryant, Trina (Craig) McGavock, all of Akron OH, Pastor Sherry (Anthony) Meddley of North Hollywood, CA, Audrey (Jonathan) Wilson of Cleveland, OH, Aubrey Gaines of Columbus, OH and Armedia Whatley of Florida.
Uncles, Preston (Sirena) Travis of Morrisville, NC, Brian (Yolanda) Ferrell of Conyers, GA, Richard Cannon, Donileo Cannon Sr. and Charles Malone Jr., all of Akron, OH.
Nieces My’joi, Ronni, Nylah and Faith; nephews, Recardo Jr., Rico and a host of cousins, other relatives and special friends.
