Gloria Jean Williams, affectionately known as “FiFi” or Fi”, was born on January 30, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Dorlacy Sr. and Delores McCoy. Gloria went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2016.
Gloria attended and graduated from Pittsburgh schools. Gloria relocated to Cleveland, Ohio to start a new life with the man she loved and married, and that is James Williams, in 1975. While in Cleveland, she obtained her Associate Degree in Theology. Gloria worked many years in various nursing homes where she developed a “zest” and “compassion” for caring of the elderly and disabled.
Fi was a GOD- fearing woman who loved GOD and was devoted to her family. She attended Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church and served as an Activity Director and Hospitality member. As an Activity Director, she was given the opportunity to plan, organize, and direct a program of activities which provided entertainment, intercommunication, and fulfill basic psychological, social and spiritual needs for the Mount Moriah congregation. Additionally, Gloria visited nursing homes and extended her love and financial support. Gloria was a previous member of the Northeast Ohio Mass Choir where she used her vocal abilities to help the choir produce several albums. She had a love of music and believed the music could help heal one’s soul.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory three daughters; Sabrina, Monica, and Nacolia; one son, Stanley; Several grandchildren; Sisters, Linda, Antoinette, and Deborah; brothers, Dorlacy, Wayne, Eddie, and the late Tony; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
