Gloria (Head) Walker departed this life on Saturday, January 25, 2020. She was born to the late Eddie and Mamie Head on February 22, 1942, in Stone Mountain Georgia. She was the second to the last child of eleven children.
She moved to Akron, OH in 1945. She attended George Barber Elementary, Goodyear Jr. High and East High School. She was baptized at Good Hope Baptist Church where she also sang in the choir. In 1959 She married Ronald Walker and from this union, two daughters were born Michelle Yvette and Adrian Marie. She worked for the Akron Board of Education until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Versie L. Smith; brothers, Verdie, Calvin and Roosevelt Head.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Michelle of Akron, OH, Adrian (Archie) Claxton of Georgia; brothers, Willie (Erline) of Akron, Walter Head of Gambier, OH, Carl Head and Narvell Cole of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Abbie Head; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren five great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
