Gracie Mae Whitner was born on December 26, 1937, in Whitmire, South Carolina to James (Rosetta) Whitner. She was the eldest of six siblings.
Gracie Mae was a pure beautiful soul who loved the simple things in life. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, clean and watch tv. Her favorite pastime was sitting on the porch watching her grandchildren, and watching her favorite stories – The Young & the Restless, and Bold and Beautiful, while telling everybody’s secrets.
Gracie Mae loved to eat and attend church on Sundays. She was an active member of the church where she gave her life over to Christ.
Gracie Mae departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Rosetta Whitner. She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy, Larry Sr. and Eunice; grandchildren Jamal Sr., Larry Jr., Candice, Briande and Rayshawn; great-grandchildren Jamal Jr., Jamerra, Emarilee, Eddielee, and Khamarii. Siblings James, Deborah, Thomas (Vernita), Mario (Brenda), Phillip, and Shirley (Ron) along with a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
