Gracyele Omelia Thomas-Little transitioned from this earthly life to be present with the Lord on April 10, 2020. She was a blessed 66 years young.
Gracyele, affectionately known as Omelia, was born to the late Dorothy Thomas and Serge Dillard Thomas on Sunday, April 19, 1953 in Medina, Ohio. She attended Medina City Schools and graduated from Buckeye High School in 1971. She later attended The Academy of Court Reporting in Akron, Ohio.
Omelia relocated to Elyria, Ohio and later moved to Akron, Ohio in the 80’s along with her two children, Terathia and Heather. She began working for Chrysler and was employed there for 30 years, retiring in 2016. During her time at Chrysler, she was blessed to make many lasting and loving friendships. It was there that she met her handsome and loving husband, Irvin Little. She relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where they nurtured an unwavering 21 year relationship. The two became one in marriage on November 19, 2006. Omelia was a loving, loyal and devoted wife. She supported her husband through his courageous battle with cancer until his transition to be with the Lord on March 22, 2020.
In her earlier years, Omelia loved traveling, singing, dancing, cooking, shopping, laughing and spending time with her friends and family. Later on in life, she enjoyed being at home with family and loved ones, watching her favorite television shows. Omelia loved God and accepted Jesus Christ into her heart as her savior early in life. She truly loved her family and friends, often putting the needs of others before her own. She possessed a kind, loving, generous and selfless spirit. She had a special soft spot for her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Grannie”.
Omelia was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Little; parents, Dorothy and Serge Dillard Thomas and Richard (Bubba) Shumate; sisters, Evon West and Irene Thomas-Greasham, Brother-in-law John Darnell, nephew, Christopher Bonsell and great nephew, Christopher Hubbard, Jr.
Omelia leaves behind to cherish her precious memory, her daughters, Terathia Thomas and Heather Henry (Shawn Wright), step-mother, Karen Ray, step-children, Delonda Little, Deron Little, Dervonda Little, Delisha (Charles) Murray, Danielle (Mario) Holmes, Delnita Little and Yolanda Wilder; sisters, Sandra (Ray) Fain, Delores Wright, Constance Shumate, Margaret Darnell, Tekara (Lenny) Carnegie, and Mauricette Thomas; brothers, Rodney Thomas, Anthony (Otealia) Thomas, Eugene (Marsha) Shumate, Carlton Shumate, Ricardo Shumate, and Serge Thomas; grandchildren, Tyre Thomas, Antwain Strong, Kennedy Draine, and Niko Wright; great-grandchild, Laken Powell; as well as 17 additional grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
