Gregory (Greg) Dane Bradshaw Sr., a man of unwavering dedication and boundless generosity, was born on March 1st, 1954, in Akron, OH. From his early days, Greg exhibited a passion for helping, and mentoring others, and a commitment to excellence that would define his life. He was the beloved son of Leona Maxine Thomas and her husband, William Thomas. He graduated from Buchtel High School in 1972 and embarked on a remarkable career as a pipefitter, eventually becoming a Journeyman at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he dedicated over 40 years of service. He was also baptized into the Church of Christ in his middle-aged years.
Greg was married to Stephanie Jean Bradshaw (Calhoun), for 50 cherished years. Together, they raised three sons: Gregory (Greg) Dane Bradshaw II, Brandon Deshawn Bradshaw, and Stephan Jermaine Bradshaw. His family was his pride and joy, and he was a loving and supportive father who always encouraged his children in their sports and activities.
Greg had a passion for photography, capturing precious moments at sporting events, school activities, and family gatherings. He also had a passion for family history, taking it upon himself to be the family historian and scribe, documenting lineages and taking pictures at family reunions. He was a handyman, known as a “Jack of all trades, master of many,” and enjoyed coaching football and baseball, gardening, and floristry. He loved watching sports and spending time with his family, engaging in spirited conversations on various topics.
He was a meticulous lawn cutter and edger, always ensuring his yard was immaculate. Greg was generous and helpful, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His mother-in-law, Jean Calhoun, fondly remembers him as not just a son-in-law but a son, always there to fix and help out whenever needed.
Greg was a teacher to his sons, imparting valuable skills such as building computers, catching and cleaning fish, constructing fences and sheds, performing car maintenance, and sharing his knowledge of pipes and plumbing. His dedication to his family and community was evident in everything he did.
As young children, Greg and Stephanie shared a surprising coincidence, being in the same wedding together as the flower girl and ring bearer. This special bond continued throughout their lives.
Greg is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Stephanie Bradshaw; his children, Greg (Teresa) Bradshaw II of Surprise, AZ, Brandon (Melissa) Bradshaw of Orchard Park, NY, and Stephan Bradshaw of Lakemore, OH; his grandchildren, Jada Harrison, Tyler Harrison, Michaela Bradshaw, Carter Bradshaw, Miles Bradshaw, and Blake Bradshaw; his great-grandchildren, Zion Harrison Payne and Cree Harrison Payne; his sister, Teressa Grimes; and his mother-in-law, Emma Jean Calhoun.
Gregory Dane Bradshaw Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generosity, and his dedication to helping others. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created.
