November 24, 1961 - July 16, 2023

GREGORY D. SMITH age 61, of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023.
Gregg was a Clevelander to the bone. He loved his family, his city, the North Coast,
his neighborhood, and his Slovenian roots. Gregg was passionate about the growing
art scene in Collinwood. He was fiercely proud of his “artsy fartsy” daughters. He
adored chocolate ice cream, extra spicy food, sci-fi books, lively discussions,
motorcycles, and tattoos. He was also a proud Marine veteran.
Loving father of Valerie (Chris) Califf and Lauren (Andy) Huffman. Devoted
grandfather of Camille and Baby Huffman. Dear son of the late Virginia Scheltz and
Frank Smith. Dear brother of Dan (Lorie), Neil, and Jennifer (Jon). Also survived by
nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests
contributions to Waterloo Arts, 15605 Waterloo Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Waterloo Arts Cafe
15605 Waterloo Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44110 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. The after party
will be next door at the Millard Fillmore Presidential Library. In honor of Gregg,
