LIFE REFLECTIONS/OBITUARY

Mr. Gregory Louis Madison, Sr. was born November 11, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the union of Mr. Israel and Mrs. Mildred Madison. He was the youngest of 3 children that included Darryl and Marty. Gregory attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Max S. Hayes in 1971. He was employed at DuPont, White Motors, General Motors, The Illuminating Co. and retired from RTA in 2017.

Gregory, from early childhood, attended St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church with his family, where his father was an usher and he and his brothers were junior ushers. Until Gregory’s injury in 2017, he was a faithful member at the Church of the Covenant and usher. Greg, also, helped chaperone college students from CWR to events sponsored by his church.

Greg had a love for tennis and enjoyed playing at Mid-Tac Tournaments in Indianapolis, Indiana; Tri-City with Cleveland, Chicago and Detroit; Friday Night tennis with Bobbie Gardner; Rockefeller Park with Forest City Tennis Club or friends; or wherever he could find a game. If he couldn’t get on the court, he’d walk for exercise. Gregory L. Madison, Sr. made his heavenly journey on May 18, 2022, in Parma, Ohio.

Gregory L. Madison Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Israel and Mildred Madison Gregory L. Madison, Sr. is survived by his loving family: Wife, “Al” (Crump) Madison, Brothers Darryl and Marty, Son Gregory, Daughters Marie and Diamond, Grandchildren Demarion, Iyainna, and Nylah, Aunt Vivian Smith along with relatives and friends.
