Mother Greta Jenkins
Born January 28, 1935, in Mermintau, Louisiana, Mother Greta Jenkins, 91, earned her crown in Glory on May 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the eldest of seven children. At an early age, her family migrated to Akron, Ohio, where she attended Akron Public Schools. She later met and married Elder Madison Jenkins, Sr., and together they raised six children.
Mother Jenkins dedicated her life to Christ and never looked back. Known for her tenacious spirit, she was a master theologian who could expound upon God’s Word at any given moment. Mother Jenkins was also a gifted storyteller, captivating listeners with her vivid details, colorful expressions, and unforgettable delivery. Revered as an Admiral in the Body of Christ, she helped birth many ministries, including her own ministry, which began in her living room with the divinely inspired declaration: “For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.” — Isaiah 56:7.
Mother Jenkins had a gift for cooking, and was an avid horticulture, with the ability of knowing any flower by name. Her strongest passion in life was being a mother.
Mother Jenkins is now reunited with her beloved husband, Elder Madison Jenkins, Sr.; her sons, Madison Jenkins, Jr. and Presley Douglas; her parents, Presley and Vernia Andrus; her brothers, Jonathon “Jonny”, Louis Charles, Laurence “Deacon”, and Paul Hawthorne; her sister, Sonya Lee Neal; and her grandson, Darian Ellis Polk.
She leaves to celebrate her life and carry on her remarkable legacy: her children, Robert Douglas, Carla (Ellis) Polk, Tommy (Karen) Jenkins, and Pastors Stacey (Lynnette) Jenkins; her special grandson, Robert Smith; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Alex (Fran) Andrus; her sisters, Jane Mason-Andrus, and Elsie (Jerry) Colley; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Andrus, of N. Las Vegas, NV, and Elizabeth Small, along with a host of beloved relatives, special spiritual daughters, sons, and friends whose lives were touched by her love, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
To know Mother Jenkins was to love her. She was the epitome of grace, strength, and holiness, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her
