GWENDOLYN JACKSON, age 74, of Cleveland, Ohio, peacefully transitioned on April 30, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who cherished her dearly.
Born on July 18, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio, Gwendolyn was a woman of strength, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family. She attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. Determined to pursue a life of service and care for others, she continued her education at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), earning her Associate Degree in Nursing (RN). She later furthered her education through continuing studies, obtaining both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from University of Phoenix in 2010.
Gwendolyn dedicated much of her life to helping others through nursing, teaching, and mentoring. She was known for her outgoing personality, leadership, generosity, and heart of gold. Whether family, friends, or strangers, she was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
She found great joy in laughter, cooking, family, gatherings and spending precious time with her beloved grandchildren. She loved creating memories with family and friends and enjoyed visiting the casino during her leisure time. Her warm spirit, wisdom, and loving presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Most importantly, Gwendolyn believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior and rededicated her life to him before her transition, finding peace and comfort in her faith.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mary Sims; her siblings, Douglas Sims, Irene Sims, Sylvia Collier, Barbara Sims, and Cylinda Hill; and her beloved husband, Hayward Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children: Hayward (Eugenia) Jackson, Akira Jackson, and Michael (Sherida) Jackson; grandchildren: Nazhary, Sheronda, Kierra, Sierra, Omari, and Amya; siblings: Charles Sims and Curtis Sims; ex-husband Ronnie Robinson; significant other Silas; a long with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and dear friends.
Through she may be absent from our sight, her love, wisdom, and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.
