With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life of Harvey James Wright Sr., who entered eternal rest on August 1st, 2026. Harvey was born October 12th, 1942, in Kirksgrove, Alabama, to the late Pernell Wright of Rome, Georgia, who preceded him in death. He was the second of seven children, six of whom preceded him in death.

He attended Main High. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army Corps for four years. He was briefly employed at General Electric in Rome, Georgia.

On April 5th, 1965, he married his childhood sweetheart, Eula Barnett Wright, with whom he shared a life of 61 years. To this union, three children were born: Lasonya Wright (Pam), Harvey J. Wright Jr, (Tidbit), and Harvey LeeAnders Wright.

Harvey moved his family to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1967. He was a devoted and hard-working man who began his career in Ohio at Acar industry in Willoughby, Ohio, for two years before joining Johnny Ford Motor Company, where he dedicated 38 years of exemplary service. Throughout his career, Harvey was recognized for his dedication, outstanding work ethic, and commitment to excellence.

Harvey was a devoted husband, strict and loving father, and devoted friend, centering his life on love and family. He was an avid sports fan who found joy in cheering for his favorite teams.

Harvey leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Eula Barnett Wright; loving daughter, LaSonya (Pam); and his grandson, LeeAndis Chance Harper, whom he lovingly called “Baby Boy”; nieces and nephews, whom his heart carried as his own; two brothers-in-law; aunts; a host of dear cousins and friends; plus a special friend, Jewel Townsley; and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.

Harvey’s legacy of hard work and devotion to his family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
