In Loving Memory of Hasani Reed

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Hasani Reed, who departed this life on August 17, 2026, at the age of 17.

Hasani was born on September 18, 2008, to his loving mother, Juanita Moore, and father, Antonio Reed. From the moment he entered this world, Hasani brought a light and personality that could never be replaced.

Hasani was educated in the Cleveland area, attending Gearity Elementary School, Roxboro Middle School, and Randall Park High School, where he proudly graduated and received his high school diploma on June 10, 2026. His graduation was a special milestone that reflected his determination and the bright future he had ahead of him.

In May 2026, Hasani began working at Chipotle, taking his first steps into the working world. He had dreams of continuing his education and was interested in pursuing a career in Nursing. His curiosity, critical-thinking skills, and desire to learn were qualities that made his family proud.

Hasani also had a love for basketball. He played with the Hillcrest YMCA Jr. CAVS, where he was part of championship teams and proudly earned championship medals in 2017, 2018, and 2022. In 2021, he also helped the Maple Heights Saints earn a trophy. These accomplishments were more than awards-they were memories of his dedication, teamwork, and the joy he found in the game.

Outside of school and basketball, Hasani enjoyed the things that made him happiest. He loved cutting hair, playing video games, watching movies and TV series, and, of course, eating good food. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always joking around, laughing, and smiling. Hasani had a personality that could make people laugh and brighten the room simply by being himself.

He was naturally curious and always thinking. His ability to ask questions, figure things out, and use his critical-thinking skills was a special part of who he was.

Hasani shared a particularly special bond with his cousin Nazir. Their relationship was one of those connections that cannot be replaced and will forever remain a treasured part of Hasani’s story.

And there was Ace, Hasani’s beloved dog, whom he cherished dearly. The love Hasani had for Ace was another reflection of the caring heart he carried within him.

Hasani is survived by mother Juanita Moore; father Antonio Reed; grandmother Sevi Hudson; grandmother Deidre Reed; grandfather Luke Moore; grandfather Charles Perryman; sister I’Yani Reed; sister Mi’Yani Gorden; brother Jaylyn Reed; brother Antonio Reed JR.; aunt Shardazzia Moore; aunt Asia Hudson; aunt Sarnetta Hudson; aunt Jasmine Scott; aunt Chdeeje Reed; uncle Deangelo Moore; uncle Darryn Ashley; uncle Diondre Clark and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Hasani’s life was far too short, but it was filled with moments, memories, laughter, accomplishments, friendships, family, and love. He was a son, a brother, a cousin, a grandson, a nephew, a friend, a teammate, and so much more. Most importantly, he was deeply loved.

His passing leaves a pain that words cannot adequately describe. His family will forever cherish his smile, his laughter, his jokes, his curiosity, his love for good food, and all of the little things that made Hasani uniquely Hasani.

Though he was only 17, Hasani left an impression that will last a lifetime.

He was here. He was loved. He mattered. And he will never be forgotten.
