On Friday, January 10, 2020, Helen Adams loving wife of 59 years to Henry J. Adams and mother of Jefferey and Steven transitioned to be in the presence of the Lord at the age of 84.
Helen was born June 1, 1935 to Jim and Hattie Taylor in Birmingham, Alabama.
On August 28, 1959, Helen joined in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Henry Adams. She loved her husband endlessly. He made sure she didn’t have to want for anything. They enjoyed traveling, home and yard renovations, hosting family gatherings, going to the casino, playing bingo, music, dancing, and watching their favorite television shows. Their 60 years of marriage was blessed and from this union two sons were born.
Helen confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age. At the time of her passing, she was a faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Warrensville Heights, OH. Helen attended A.H. Parker High School, Birmingham, AL. After graduation, she attended Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Atlanta, GA where she received her degree in Nursing. She moved to Cleveland, OH, where she met Henry and practiced as a Surgical Head Nurse at Forest City Hospital. She retired from nursing in 1987 from Women’s General Hospital
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Henry John Adams June of 2019; parents: Jim and Hattie Taylor; and five brothers: Jim, Ardis, Willie, James and Fred. Her memories will be cherished by her loving sons; Jefferey and Steven; grandchildren: Jay Todd, Byron, Xavier, and Savannah; great grandchildren: Jay, Aiden, and Logan; Siblings: Cherry Miller; Christine Williams (Davis), Hattie Mae Taylor; Edward Taylor (Shirley Ann); and Frank Taylor (Marion Jean); In-Laws: Doris, Bobbie, Ida Mae, Joseph (Barbara) and John (Bettie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
