Helen Jackson was born to John Henry Webb and Avilee Webb on May 21, 1943, in Clemson, South Carolina. She was the first born of six children. Helen Jackson was born to John Henry Webb and Avilee Webb on May 21, 1943, in Clemson, South Carolina. She was the first born of six children. After a long illness, on Friday, July 13, 2018, God called her home to receive her reward. She is preceded in death by parents; John Henry Webb, & Avilee Webb; Brothers Jimmy Webb, and Larry Webb.
She graduated from Barberton High School in 1961. Shortly after, she was united in marriage to James Jackson also of Barberton Ohio on January 5, 1962. She then moved to Akron, Ohio to start her family. To that union, three children were born.
Helen’s career began as she worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Sharpe, in Akron, Ohio. She later worked as a Medical Secretary, & Supervisor for Children’s Medical Group for over 20 years. She later obtained her Insurance license & worked as an Insurance Agent, offering Life and Health Insurance. She undoubtedly touched many lives in Akron and surrounding areas by providing guidance around life insurance services.
Helen was a member of St. John Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Her passion was serving her community, she particularly had a passion for serving Barberton, Ohio. She organized the South Barberton Parade for many years, served with The Barberton Branch NAACP, helped organize the Freedom Fund Dinner, and the many Fashion Shows held for the Youth at the Wreck Center in Barberton, Ohio. In past years, she enjoyed being a member of the Emerald Social Club. In recent years, she was invited to serve on a special committee to help organize planning for the Copley Community Park.
She loved her family & continuously supported her husband and children. She also was a great cook and loved to travel. She was remembered as always being well-dressed! She loved to shop, and was personally known by staff at Oneil’s, and in recent years Macy’s!
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband James Jackson; three daughters, Valerie Christi Sheppard, Erica Danielle Britton (David), and Vikki Jackson-Houston (Merle) all of Copley Ohio. Two Sister’s Amelia Jones (Terral), & Helen Crawford. Brothers; Gene Webb (Odessa), Melvin Webb. Grandchildren (7); Austin James Sheppard, Sidni Sheppard, Miles Sheppard, Brianna Britton, David Britton, Camille Houston, Monet Houston. Niece’s: Lashawn Brown (Derrick), Regina Curry (Richard), Tedra Webb, Christina Webb, Tiffany Gray (Steve), Nephews: Terral Jones Jr., Matthew
