Helen Wilson, age 80, of Cleveland, Ohio, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on August 10, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Marvin and Beatrice Booker. From an early age, Helen showed compassion, strength, and a heart for helping others—qualities that defined her throughout her life.
A proud graduate of the Cleveland Public Schools, Helen went on to build a distinguished career in healthcare. As a nurse, she cared for countless patients with gentleness, professionalism, and grace. She was known for her compassion, humility, and genuine concern for others. To Helen, nursing was not just a career, it was her ministry of love and service.
Beyond her work, Helen was deeply involved in her community. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, listen with empathy, or ensure that no one she met went hungry or in need. Her faith in God guided every step of her life. In 2017, Helen was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. From that moment forward, her faith grew even stronger, guiding her daily walk and giving her peace that surpassed all understanding. She leaned on the promises of her favorite passage, Psalm 91.
Helen was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eddie Wilson, Sr. Together, they shared decades of laughter, devotion, and unwavering faith. Eddie preceded her in death on October 4, 2023, but their bond remains unbroken in eternity.
Helen was a devoted mother to four children: Donnell (Edie) Wilson, Lisa (Derek) Griffin, Eddie Wilson Jr., and Terran (Tamika) Wilson, each of whom reflects her compassion, integrity, and strength.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved grandchildren, including her special granddaughter who cared for her daily with love, Elizabeth (Aaron) Miles, Devon (Devyn) McKinney, Shantell (William) Kraws, Tyrell Wilson, Cornelious Taylor Jr., Ta’Merran Wilson, and Monai Wilson; and her great-grandchildren: Kristian Pope, Tori Miles, Erin Miles, Kamar Taylor, London Taylor, Lina Taylor, Cassius Taylor, Terry Taylor, Cali Taylor, Olivia Wilson, Landyn Wilson and Liam Kraws.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Wilson, Sr.; her loving parents, Marvin and Beatrice Booker; and her siblings, Florence “Tottie” Jacobs-Booker, Sandra Watson, George Booker, and James Booker.
Helen will be remembered for her radiant smile, calm strength, and deep faith. She lived a life of purpose, service, and love. Her grace touched every person she encountered, and her legacy will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends.
