Henrietta Jenkins lovingly known as “Retta” was born on September 19, 1945, in Cleveland Ohio to the late Lottie Orr and Henry Curtis who preceded her in death. Henrietta was educated in the Cleveland public school system graduating from East Technical High School. Retta confessed Christ at an early age. Retta met the love of her life Frank Jenkins Jr. her childhood sweetheart and was a devoted and loving wife for 61 years. Retta worked at Sunny acres hospital, Cleveland municipal schools district as a bus driver and Beachwood skilled nursing facility as a nursing assistant. Retta loved helping family members with their newborn babies, the sick, and was always willing to help others. Retta was kind and was a great listener. Retta had a great sense of fashion. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed having family parties, cooking, gardening, and playing card games, especially bid whist. She loved dancing with her husband and enjoyed traveling. To this union 3 children were born, Tonya Jenkins Bonner (Dale), Frank Jenkins III, and Robert A. Jenkins (Yvonne).
Henrietta and Frank were members of the Baptist church and enjoyed growing spiritually in Christ. Henrietta enjoyed being a grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind husband Frank, 11 grandchildren Karmen, Dale, Brett, Joshua, Josh, Robert Jr. step grandson Koron, Robbie, Amber, Romelo, and Kayla. She was very close to her siblings Margaret Williams, Lovie Orr, and brother Robert Orr. Nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She will be truly missed. Henrietta was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Eula Mae, Polly and Ella Mae.
