Henry Lee McClain was born on March 16, 1932 in Akron, Ohio to the late Judge McClain and Deborah Stewart Watkins. He was raised from a young age by Jesse and Sadie Smith.
Henry was a graduate of South High School, attended Akron University and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for and retired from Babcock & Wilcox of Barberton, Ohio. Henry married Shirla Lorraine Robinson on April 6, 1957 in Akron and had two children, daughter Kelli and son Scott.
Henry slept into rest on September 6, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirla; also sisters Katie, Laddie, Lovytta, Alice, Dorothy, Barbara, Arlene and Lucille; brothers Zeke, Curtis, Lucious, Freddie, Stuart, Robert, Leonard and John.
He leaves to mourn: brother George (Carries) McClain of Tuskegee, Alabama; son, Scott McClain of Akron, Ohio and daughter Kelli and son-in-law Dean Shimabukuro of Columbia, Maryland; grandsons Jay McClain of Arlington, Virginia, Dominic McClain of Akron, Ohio, granddaughter, Ryan Shimabukuro of Baltimore, Maryland, grandsons Kane Shimabukuro and Conor Shimabukuro all from Columbia, Maryland, special friend Vickie Norman, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.
