Herb was not only a patient of mine but he was my friend. The years we spent together every Monday Wednesday and Friday while he was on dialysis we talked about life, love and our families. I have never met anyone as real and as honest as Herb.
I am blessed that life put us in each other's path. It will take me a long time to accept that he is gone, but the short time we spent together were some of the best of my life.
I know Herb will be waiting for me when it's my time on a porch drinking soda singing "Midnight Train to Georgia" saying "Why did it take you so long?"
Herb was not only my friend but in my heart he was a part of my soul. Until we meet again, fly high my friend, I miss you, and I love you.

My sincere condolences to all the family. In the 80s, Herb gave me a funny nickname that has stuck with me to this day. He never called me by my name again. LOL. He treated me with kindness and love, just like I was his sister. He was protective and funny. He gave me smiles and laughter whenever I saw him , even on FaceTime. He will truly be missed, but he is with Harkim and Janie so he is happy now.
