Howard C. Webb, affectionately known as Bud, was born on March 29, 1936, in Tallassee, Alabama to the union of Ruth Smith Dumas and Hubert B. Webb, Sr. Howard passed away peacefully on July 4, 2021, in Akron, Ohio.
Howard graduated and excelled in both basketball and baseball for Wall Street High School in East Tallassee. When growing up, Howard was a Boy Scout Leader, a swimmer, and a terrific dancer – often the life of the party! He was employed as a cobbler for Highland Shoe Repair for over 20 years. He was a diesel mechanic for White Motor Company for many years and in his retirement years, he was an excellent landscaper.
He attended The Chapel in Akron, Ohio. Howard was a witty, fun-loving person and enjoyed his daily coffee trips to meet up with friends at Burger King.
He was truly a pleasure to be around and could certainly make you laugh with his great sense of humor. Howard never turned down an opportunity to help others and was a loving loyal friend and a confidant to many.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Patricia; sister, Lena Jones; brothers, Warren B. Webb, Alfonzo Webb, Sr.; daughter, Kellie and Kellie’s twin, (newborn) Alan. He is survived by his son, Howard Jr., and daughter Otelia Elaine. Howard was proud of and lovingly spoiled his grandchildren, Jermaine Harris, Aliyah, and Ruth Webb.
He is survived by siblings, William (Verdelle) of Huntington Beach CA; Mary Frances ( Eugene) of Inglewood, CA; Helen Flowers of Los Angeles, CA, Margaret Webb of Los Angeles, CA and Erma Gaddis of Detroit MI.; sisters-in-law, Ina C. Webb, of Akron and Annie L. Webb of Inglewood, CA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Howard Charles Webb (Bud) will be missed beyond measure and our earthly loss is heaven’s gain.
