Just remembering the time I met you on Bridge Ave, and you were driving the Trans-Am. You will never be forgotten my friend.
I’m sorry we’re learning so late that this fine man has left us. What a great contributor he was to this world. My family and I came to know Herb and his fine fellow Prayer Warriors when we had the genuine pleasure of hearing their music which lead to us following them wherever we could find them and ultimately making beautiful relationships with Herb and others of the group. Herb was magnetic; his big smile and big heart drew people to him. That was, in my opinion, not a coincidence; he so clearly had the heart of a weaver of peace. He had an extraordinary talent for turning strangers into friends, of erasing the line between races and religions and East Siders and West Siders. God bless dear Herb. May he Rest In Peace. Teri and Hank Schenk and family.
I thought about Herb today. I have known Herb for many years in TV news. A nicer man you could not find. Such positive energy. His group, the Prayer Warriors are a great legacy for him.
Rest in Peace Herb... Growing up in Ohio City you made a positive influence in my life.

My brother, Rev., Dr. C. Jay Matthews, told me that Herb had passed and I completely forgot. Not until I saw an article about him did I remember. My heart broke twice. Herb was the first photographer who shared with me what good lighting does for a photograph and an actor on stage. My sincerest condolences to the Thomas family.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
R.I.P My Friend, one of your original "Prayer Warriors" we first perform together with "The Sky's The Limit" in the early 70's.
I pray God's Grace and Comfort to the family.
Herb,
You were always that calming stone when your playing behind us on the road. You are immortalized with us forever in the movie " The Sax Man". You were supposed to be with us next week. November 6th in Columbus, Ohio. WE will miss you very much..

To the family of Herb Thomas....
We are deeply saddened at your loss and hope you will find comfort with the Bible's message at Revelation chapter 21 verse 4: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
I thank Herb Thomas for so many years of relying on his talent, patience, and looking way up at his twinkly eyes and warm smile. He will make a great Angel beaming that kindness on us.

My heartfelt prayers to the family. He left a wonderful legacy and quest for excellence that will be hard to follow. His time, kindness, creativeness with Chanel 8, Prayer Warriors, Neon, Tri-C, and the Cleveland Community are well known. You are at peace my friend.

TGBTG for the things He has done. Deepest Condolences to the family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Herb Thomas.
I met Herb for the first time in 2007 just when a couple of ladies and I organized an older women’s praise dance group in our church. We were called the Praise Warriors and oddly enough, his entertainment group was the Prayer Warriors!
He volunteered to provide constructive criticism in regards to music and movements. Fortunately for us, he was also planning an Easter performance a few years from then and invited us to participate. We had no idea how grueling rehearsals could be. There was no exception made for age! We not only participated in what felt like a Broadway performance but carried those techniques that were learned within our minds and our hearts.
His music also meant a lot to us. We learned to move to the certain beat of a song which helped us in our performances in our church.
In 2012 to present, I became the City Councilwoman in Euclid. Herb and I would speak periodically. He later found a house within the ward that I serviced. He was a perfect neighbor! All of the persons who lived around him expressed joy in having him there. Herb would “honk” as he passed by my house just to say “hi”.
Herb was a gifted musician, an excellent teacher, a wonderful neighbor, and a good friend. His sudden death has been devastating!
Please accept our deepest condolences for your family's loss.
