Ilean Horton-Mayfield, 65, was born March 10, 1954 and passed away on January 18, 2020.
She was born to Eddie Lee Horton and Vesta Lee Cleveland in Montevallo, Alabama. She was blessed with one daughter, Christine and one son, Maurice.
Ilean was a member of Wintergreen Ledges COG for many years. She was employed at Olan Mills, and also worked at Destiny Academy for many years, helping the needy with food boxes. She loved people and did what she could to help out at all times. She also volunteered as President of the PTA at Findley Elementary School for well over 6 years and continued to volunteer after her grandchildren left. Before her husband passed, they loved to host card parties with many family members and friends. After moving into Saferstein Towers, she made many friends and played cards with them as much as possible. She also loved to play bingo and attend as many social activities as she could. She looked forward to seeing her friends every Saturday morning for doughnuts and coffee.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Lee; her grandmothers, Beatrice Mitchell and Lucille McCary; father, Eddie L. Horton; mother, Vesta L. Horton; brothers, Clarence Horton, Charles Horton, Perry Horton, Willie Frazier Trevillion and Theodus Fitts; sister, Christine Glass; niece, Sherita Horton; and nephews, Timothy Pittman and Bernard Horton.
Ilean leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Christine (Shannon) Mayfield; son, Maurice Mayfield; granddaughters, Natahja (Trey), Deztinie Mayfield and Angelina Johnson; one great-grandson, Trey Dunson II; sisters, Lashawn Trevillion, Harriet (George) Thompkins, all of Akron, OH; Caroline Horton Bell of Richmond Heights, OH, Rita Horton, Felicia Price and Melody King, all of Tampa, FL; brothers, Eddie (Pandora) Horton and Robert (Trinka) Smith, both of Akron, OH, Gary Horton of Tampa, FL; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Horton and Elizabeth Horton, both of Akron, OH; uncles, Joe (Barbara) McCary of Akron, OH and Roy McCary of Detroit, MI; special cousin, Gloria Smelly; special friends, Jan Copeland and Lee Cox and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
