Our Son, Jack Luster Barnett III was born on June 6, 1994, to Jack Luster Barnett Jr and Kimberly Barnett (Sherman) in Garfield Hts. Ohio.
Jack accepted Christ as an adolescent and joined Mt. Zion of Oakwood Village. Jack attended Maple Heights City Schools where he developed life-long friendships and was active in Track and Football. Jack gained more life-long friends during his attendance at the University of Akron and Cleveland State University while pursuing Engineering.
Jack took a great amount of pride and enjoyment in spending time with his family, his friends, and playing his video games. If you knew anything about him, you knew that he loved his home teams, especially the Cleveland Browns and was excited to see what was in store for the Browns this year. Jack also found enjoyment in playing in a volleyball league with his friends, which he took very seriously.
Jack held down two jobs and was recognized for being a dedicated worker for both. He worked at Kosar’s Wood Fire-Grill at MGM Northfield Park for several years. He loved working there and the friendships he developed during that time. He even won awards for being an outstanding employee. Jack recently started a job at University Hospitals, forming even more friendships and was looking forward to soon finishing his college education.
Jack was affectionately known to his family as “L.J.” and to his friends as “Jiggy Jack” or “Jackpot.” Everyone that had the pleasure of meeting Jack could not help but recognize how genuinely good of a person he was. Jack was charismatic, generous, selfless, funny, joyful, spirited, down to earth, brutally honest at times, a confidant to many of his friends and family, but most of all he was loving.
The consistent sentiments amongst Jack’s friends are that he was dependable, trustworthy, encouraging, caring, loving, a good listener/advisor, and just an all-around “cool” person. He was the G.O.A.T when it came to a “true” friend and his absence is truly felt by many.
Jack was an amazing son, brother, and friend. To know Jack was to absolutely love him. His personality, wit and smile were infectious.
Jack ascended to glory on June 1, 2022, joining his grandmother, Linda Barnett. Jack leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories, a brother and best friend, Joseph W. Barnett; great-grandmother Roginger Adams; grandparents Jack L. Barnett Sr. (Elizabeth), William Sherman and Bonnie Jones; aunts & uncles Phillip Arrington Jr, Maliese Roberts (Major), Angela Tuggle (Sean), Edward Barnett, and Sharonda Sherman. He also leaves a host of cousins, other close relatives, and a multitude of dear friends.
Jack’s time with us was only twenty-seven short years. If we had one hundred years with him, it still would not have been enough. This is how much we love, cherish and are proud of him. Our love for you Jack is unmeasurable and you are deeply missed,
Love forever ~ Mom & Dad
