Jack Grier born Nimrod Jack Grier passed away on May 31, 2018, after a long illness.

He was born February 23, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama to Nellie “Sugg” Smedley-Grier-Ivery and Nimrod Grier.

He attended Akron Public Schools, Washington Beauty Academy, and Hammel Business College. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Jack enjoyed playing cards, watching wrestling and movies, listening to music, playing the lottery, and spending time with his kids, grands and greats. He loved his hats and clothes and had a great sense of style and humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billie, Hubert “Shorty”, Millard, and Kilahos Eytg “Hoss”; great grandson, Marquise Jr.; other family and friends.

Jack leaves to mourn his death and cherish his memory, sister, Mabel Moore; son: “Lil” Jack “Jackie” Grier; daughters, Darnella and Natalie Grier; grandchildren: Sabria, D’metrius, Chantelle, Chavelle, Ashley, Denaer and Nykai. Great Grandchildren, Auna and Aniyah. Mothers of children: Phyllis Dehart and Cora Anderson and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family wishes to thank all those who called, left messages, visited and otherwise shared their love during our time of mourning.
