Jackson Garth was born to the late Nathaniel and Mary L. Garth on June 4, 1926 in Courtland, Alabama. At the age of 12 the family relocated to Chattanooga, TN. Jackson Garth was born to the late Nathaniel and Mary L. Garth on June 4, 1926 in Courtland, Alabama.
At the age of 12 the family relocated to Chattanooga, TN.
At the age of 17 Jackson enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served 2 years and left with an honorable discharge in 1947.
Jackson moved to Akron, Ohio in 1950 where he worked various jobs at Goodyear, Goodrich, and later retiring from Firestone in 1980 after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel, mother, Mary L. Garth; daughter, Cassandra Garth; sisters, Annie Little, Mary Curtis; brothers, Nathaniel Garth, Jr., and Dr. Arlyce J. Garth.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 59 years Margaret Garth; sister, Katherine (Kathy) Gideon of Akron; daughters, Linettetra Walters (Curtis), Andrea Humphry (Richard); grandchildren, Rashaan (R. Jackson) and Kyendria Garth of Atlanta, GA, Jazzmaine (Jazzman) Partridge, Deairra Sanders (Allyn), Curtis Walters, Jr. (Taria), Delacey Walters and a host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
