Jacqueline Reniter Hill the daughter of Thelma Johnson and Charles Hill was born on July 25,1963 in Cleveland, Ohio.
She attended Cleveland Public schools.
Jackie accepted Christ at an early age. She loved singing the gospel. Jackie sang soprano for two gospel groups named; The Gospel Songs and the Jeremiah Singers.
Jackie worked at the Cleveland Playhouse over 20 years, where she devoted most of her career life up to the time she retired. During her time there, she was blessed to meet people from all over the world, whom like all of us fell in love with her immediately. While working at the Playhouse she was able to express her lover for decor. She would often bring home floral arrangements she created and showcased them every holiday seasons.
Jackie was a loving daughter who spent majority of her life caring for her mother. Although she didn’t have any children, she treated her nieces and nephews as her own.
Jackie loved cooking soul food and entertaining guest, especially during the holidays. She had a special love for music. She enjoyed fishing, art, watching soap opera’s, gardening, playing card games, and she loved to make people laugh.
We will always remember how Jackie would dance in front of the mirror. Her nieces will remember playing in the back yard with the water hose in the summer and making snowmen in the winter. Surely her nieces will remember the tickle monster. There will always be special memories of playing bid whist, spades and backgammon with family and friends. We will always remember how she would call you by your first, middle, and last name when she meant business. We will remember getting together to sing gospel and she would always say “what’s your note”, while she would be the one hitting the wrong note LOL.
She was preceded in death by her mother Thelma Johnson; father Charles Hill; step-father Marshall Johnson; sister Sandra Louise Hill; brother Daniel Hill; best friends Regina (Candy) Phillips, Christina (Chrissy) Landers; and the love of her life Willie Martin who she’s now reunited with in heaven.
Jackie leaves to cherish her memory: Goddaughter Kadeja Newell; sisters Thelma Bruce (Ronald); Sonya Hill; Shelia Johnson (Jerome); Sheryl Hill. Her brothers Anthony Hill; Kevin Hill; Khabir Hillery (Malika). A special sister/friend Jackie Meeks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
