Jade Tiarra Johnson passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the age of 32. Early that morning, the clouds lifted and Jade was ushered to heaven.

Jade was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 21, 1991, to James Johnson and Sabrina (Banks) Malcolm. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2014.

A natural born leader with an infectious smile, Jade was a travel enthusiast who loved vacationing with her family, especially with her friends, mom and aunties; a converted exercise junkie; party planner extraordinaire and lover of all things game related. Jade possessed a steadfast work ethic and endless commitment in any role she held whether as a student at the University of Cincinnati, serving as a Laboratory Coordinator and Lead Validation Technologist at Cleveland Clinic where she was employed for seven years or most recently at the Veterans Administration as a Medical Technologist. In fact, the way Jade led her labs, teams and work, at times we were convinced she was an aspiring CEO. Whatever Jade did, she was all in! Every year she participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® in loving memory of her grandmother, Katie M. Johnson. Jade was a lifelong learner and most recently diligently studied for her Technologist in Chemistry certification and passed with flying colors.

Anyone who knew Jade knew she never shied away from and was always ready for a good, old-fashioned debate. While having a heart of gold, she had no problem telling it like it was.

Her family was the light of her life and she was a fearless protector of her siblings LeRon, Miya Brittany, and Anthony Jr. and cousins TJ, Mikey, De’Shawn, TJ III, Ryan and Clarke. She was an amazing daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, friend and colleague. Jade touched the lives of so many. She will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.

Jade’s greatest life contribution has been the gift of sight for a fellow human being who will now see the world through Jade’s beautiful eyes.

Jade is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Katie Johnson and Marjorie Malcolm, maternal grandparents John and Erika Banks.

She is survived by her parents James Johnson of St. Louis, MO; Anthony and Sabrina Malcolm of Glenwillow, OH. Aunts, Sylvia (Terry Johnson) Banks of Bedford Heights, OH; Angie Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA; Deidre Eberhart of Houston, TX; Marjorie ‘Sis’ Malcolm of Shaker Heights, OH; Renee (Joe) Mayes of Warrensville Heights, OH. Uncles Justin Johnson of St. Louis, MO; Errol (Connie) Malcolm of Solon, OH; and Lamar (Gail) Malcolm of Hudson, OH. Godmother Marian Pimpleton of Canton, GA. Siblings LeRon Johnson of St. Louis, MO, Brittany Johnson of Plano, TX, Miya and Anthony Jr. Malcolm of Glenwillow, OH; one niece Cortlynn of St. Louis, MO; cousins Terry (Erica) Johnson Jr.; Michael Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; Jasmine Johnson of Toledo, OH, Alicia Walker of Houston, TX; Ramar Walker Detroit, MI; and a host of family and close friends.
