Jamere Raphael Brown was born on July 22, 2003, in Cleveland, Ohio. Jamere affectionately known as “Jay” or “Mere, a name that means “A handsome king to fall in love with”, was born to parents Allecia Chisholm and Raphael Brown Sr. Jamere made his entrance into the world at 31 weeks, weighing only 2lbs 4oz. Throughout life Jamere always had a fighting spirit and fought every battle with strength and courage.
Jamere was the eldest of eight children, accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age.
He was adored by his siblings. Whenever they were together it was as if no one else existed. In true big brother style, he always gave his siblings whatever they wanted.
Jamere attended Warrensville Heights City Schools, was a member of the wrestling team and graduated in 2021. During his time on the wrestling team the dedication to his team reflected his unwavering loyalty and commitment. Jamere was also an avid gamer, he loved to swim and loved taking care of animals, his cat Sparkles and dog Bella.
Being strong, knowledgeable and having a commitment to excellence showed up in every aspect of Jamere’s life, from work ethic to personal appearance. He was dedicated to learning and was excited to study Business Management and Real Estate. He was also committed to making sure his appearance was on point. Jamere was into his Jordan’s, and it was never a moment when he was without his durag because “he had to stay WAVY”.
Jamere found joy in bringing people together. He was a humble person with a big heart. He enjoyed his family to the fullest and enjoyed the company of others. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Jamere lived up to the meaning of his name. He was loved by all who crossed his path, when you met him, you could not help but fall in love with him. He had an infectious smile, beautiful eyes, and a personality that was bigger than life. We will all miss him, and will cherish his memories through his legacy, daughter “Ky’Mera Brown.
Jamere was ushered into the presence of God on Friday, September 27, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers George Chisholm Sr and Clarence Hasberry and his great-grandmother Savannah Oliver.
He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Ky’Mera Brown, parents Allecia Chisholm and Raphael Brown Sr and Best Bonus Mom Jazmine Brown; four sisters, Royal, Logan, Justice and Raigan; three brothers Raphael Jr, Josiah, and River; godbrother Mourice Jr.; three great-grandmothers Jewell Chisholm, Lutisha Hammons and Laura Mae Hasberry; two grandfathers George A.K.A Pa (Shirley A.K.A G-Ma) Chisholm, Virgil (Geneva) Hasberry; two grandmothers Allecia Hammons and Sylvia “Gigi” Brown, and a host of family and friends who love and celebrate his life.
