James Creighton Tyler was born August 9, 1927 in Akron, OH to the late Gabriell & Nannie Tyler.

He was a well-known electrician around the city of Akron for many years and formed a brand of his own “Tyler Service” servicing many, many refrigerators, furnaces and plumbing.  He worked for Akron Industrial Motor Repair and Goodyear Aerospace.  He also served in the Army.  Creighton was a loving and devoted husband and father.  He loved cooking pancakes, cookies and his fried chicken was his best.  He enjoyed taking his children out for Sunday rides and ice-cream, he even enjoyed eating at breakfast spots around Akron.

Creighton was recognized by one of the Presidents Men to fix a United Aircraft.  Creighton loved his jazz, he listened to Jimmy Smith and Jimmy McGriff.

He also loved watching sports and going to air shows.  He will be truly missed.

Creighton is preceded in death  by his parents Gabriell and Nannie Tyler; brother Donald Tyler; grandsons, Marvelle Deshawn Tyler and James Creighton C.T. Tyler.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois Tyler; sons, Marvin, Glen, Leonard and Kevin (Dyemon); daughters, Marilyn, Janet (Anthony); sisters, Gabilene and Doris; 55 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
