James Howard Bruce was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late James C. and Lavonuie Bruce on September 10, 1944. He has one sister, Leanese.
Upon moving to Cleveland the family united with St. Timothy Baptist Church where Howard was baptized at the age of eight. He attended Cleveland public schools and graduated from Maxx S. Hayes Trade School. He joined the Army in 1966 and was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon his discharge, he started working at Ford Motor Company in Brookpark, Ohio until his retirement.
Howard was united in Holy Matrimony to Barbara Mitchell in April, 1974. To this union two children was born, Marlon and James (Brandon).
Howard will be remembered for his love of cars and his great sense of humor.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Barbara; sister, Leanese Hall; sons, Marlon (Catrina) and Brandon (Elizabeth), daughter, Tracy Latten; uncle, Clemon Makupson (South Carolina); grandchildren, Justin (Carrie) (California, Destiny (California, Cameron, Marlon II, Markaylah, Kaia, Jalen, Anya, and Anthony; two great-granddaughters, Ellis and Wesley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very dear friends.
