James Hinton, Jr., 74, ascended to join our heavenly father and made his transition on October 30, 2018. Born in Tacoma, Washington on August 3, 1944, to James J. Hinton Sr. and Bernice, he was a graduate of South High in Akron, Ohio and an employee of Chrysler Auto and Stamping Plant for over 30 years.
He believed in work, family and our Lord Jesus Christ whom he accepted as his personal savior. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, pastored by Reverend Irece T. Bradley and Roderick Pounds.
“Joe”, as he was known to friends and family, was kind, considerate and above all loyal. Though many who knew him left the earth before him, those who are still here, friend and foe, can vouch for his great sense of humor, as well as being a loving husband of 54 years to Juanakee, his wife, and father to his children, James Hinton III of Scottsdale, Arizona; Denise Hinton of Peoria, Arizona and Jamal Hinton of Akron, Ohio. With grandchildren, a great-grandchild and sister, Gwendolyn Hayes, he leaves a host of relatives too numerous to name that mourn his passing.
