James Arthur (Bell) Lacey affectionately known as “Bo”, was born November 7th, 1941, to Mary Ollie Bell & Deodies Lacey in Huntsville Alabama. James was the eldest of 5 children: Deodies Jr, William, Jenett, and Walter. He dropped out of school, at an early age to begin working, to help support his siblings.
James leaves behind his beloved wife Eunice M. Lacey and 6 children: James Jr, Timothy Lacey, (late) Lawrence Davis Jr, (wife) Susan Davis, (daughter) Teresa Diamond (husband) Micheal Diamond, (daughter) Gwendolyn Bass (fiancé) Kevin, and (son) Antonio Lacey.
James also leaves 14 grandchildren behind, Jasmyn La’Rosa, Nashum, Jermaine, (wife, Karen), Jamon, (fiancé, Sherrise) Travon, Michelle, Theresa, Antonio, Brianna, Micheal Jr., Keemari, Autumn & Kira. He leaves 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
James (Bo) moved to Ohio in 1967, as a truck driver. After driving for a few years, H started his career at Ford Motor Company in Brookpark, OH, where he also retired, in 1992. He loved working on cars, he had a passion for fishing and talking on his CB radio. His CB radio nickname was “BackSweet”, and he was known throughout the community.
During 2021, he began to get closer to the Lord, he attended LifeWorks Church before his passing and was baptized in November of 2023. James passed away on December 2nd, 2023, with his family by his side.
