James Lee Fain, was born on July 13, 1939, in Stovall, North Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on April 21, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital with his daughter by his side.
Before settling in Ohio, James lived in New York, and the state of Michigan.
James was a member of the United States Army and was honorably discharged. While serving his country, he received a Good Conduct Medal and he was also a Sharpshooter and he drove cargo trucks.
In the early 70’s, James became a truck driver and retired with over 30 years of service. He was an avid member of the Teamsters Local No. 24 Retiree Fellowship Club and an active member of American Legion, John Fulton Post No. 272. He was also an active member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, were he was a member for over twenty years, and he served joyfully in the security ministry.
James united in matrimony with Julia McKinney and from their union, three beautiful girls were born.
James loved spending time with his family playing dominoes, checkers and rook and he prided himself on winning every single time. He was a sports fanatic; his favorite baseball team was Toronto Blue Jays and his favorite football team was the Buffalo Bills.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Colonel Fain and his mother, Missouria Priscilla Cobb-Fain; ex-wife, Julia Fain and his brother-in-law, William Hennessee.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet Lee, Zelda Marie, Priscilla Ann and Juliette, all of Akron, Ohio; his sister, Etherine Pettiford Hennessee of Fayetteville, North Carolina; his nephews, Chuck and Darrel of North Carolina. He leaves to carry his legacy 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of friends and family.
