James “JT” Terrell was born July 5, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He spent years of his youth in both San Diego, California and Brunswick, Maine, then moving to Akron, Ohio with his parents, he became a lifelong resident. James worked at Akron Towel and then for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was accepted into and graduated from Goodyear’s first Apprenticeship Program as a Machine Repair Mechanic, Class of 1970. James worked at Goodyear for 51 years retiring in 2016. James married Carole Lewis in 1963, and to this union, two children were born. James enjoyed billiards, bowling, camping, fishing, games of chance as well as rooting for both his beloved Browns and Buckeyes. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, socializing and traveling. He was most proud of his membership with the Zulus motorcycle club. He would later marry Rosemary Blackmon (deceased) and to this union, two children were born.
James was preceded in death by his parents, William Terrell, Veola and George Stafford Jr.; niece, Taylor and nephew, William Terrell.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Julie (Joseph) Harris of Akron, OH, Jason D. Terrell of Columbus, OH, Jermaine Terrell of Nashville, TN and Julian (Kristian) Terrell of Hendersonville, TN; brother, William (Melanie) Terrell Jr. of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Joseph Harris, Briana Harris of Akron, OH, Jahlan D. Terrell of Columbus, OH, J’Sheona D. Terrell and Jhanae D. Terrell of Reynoldsburg, OH, Jaidynce Terrell, Jordan Terrell, Jaycen Terrell of Nashville, TN, Justice Terrell and Josie Terrell of Hendersonville, TN; great-grandchildren, A`Niyah Johnson, A`Laiyah Terrell and Rhylan Batiste of Columbus, OH; nieces, Mallory Terrell and Carrington Terrell; nephews, Garrison Terrell and Ellington Terrell of Fayetteville, GA and a host of other family and friends.
