James T. Townsend Jr. aka “Mr. T” was born on July 1, 1956, in Akron, Ohio to the late James T. Townsend, Sr. and Ethel Townsend.  he was educated in Akron Public Schools and graduated from Central High School.  He worked at Akron City Hospital as a facility worker. James was also a dedicated electrician. He finished his career, retiring from Goodyear in Akron, Ohio

James aka “Mr. T” loved karaoke. he owned his own equipment and often entertained at his home and at other venues. James was also a collector of cars.  In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the lottery and plowing snow for family and friends, as well as strangers.

He was preceded in death by his father, James T. Townsend Sr.; mother, Ethel Townsend; brother, Timothy Townsend; son, James T. Townsend III aka “Big J” and son, Derrick D. Walker aka “D Walk.”

James is survived by his son, Dominic Walker; daughters, Mandy (Derrick) Henderson, Latoka (Raymond) Averiett; sons, Darren Townsend, Antonio Townsend; brother, Darren (Tracy) Townsend; sister, Janice (Bobby) Christian; brother, Anthony Townsend; sister, Nett Lopp; brother, Charles and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, grand and great-grandchildren.
