Janet Elizabeth Chaney was born on November 15, 1940, and passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 82. Janet was born in Durham, North Carolina and, at the age of 12, moved to New York where she was raised. She was the beloved wife of Walter for 10 years.

Janet’s first and greatest love was for her heavenly father Jehovah God. This love motivated her to serve as a full-time minister for many years and volunteer her time in other ways to support her worldwide brotherhood. She loved to share the Bible’s message of hope with anyone she could talk with. She was an accomplished writer, who also loved to crochet, knit, and sew; which gifts she lovingly taught to her daughters. She will be truly missed until our heavenly father Jehovah, by means of Jesus Christ, awakens her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Arrington, and parents, Margaret Renfrow (George West) and Joseph Kennedy.

Janet is survived by her children, Maria (Clarence), Sabena, Janet, Jamie, Charlotte, Shirley and son, Charles Jr. She was the cherished grandmother of 27 and a host of nieces, nephews and dearly loved spiritual brothers and sister; dear sister of Margaret Henriques and Evita Dean and the following deceased: Johnny West, Duke West, Marion Cole, Lavenia Murchison, Lena Gibson and Jesse Gibson.
