Jason Lamar Dirden, affectionately known as Wax, lived a short but exciting life, touching the hearts of everyone he met. He was born to James C. Dirden and Frances Kimbrough Dirden on June 14, 1979. Wax was a humble man and exceeded his duties in the roles of being a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was very protective when it came to his children and sisters. He treated everyone special, making them feel like family.
Jason graduated from Buchtel High School in 1998, where he played football. In his early years, Wax along with his sister, played baseball for the White Socks. He loved sports and enjoyed watching Ohio State and The Eagles. Wax also loved to cook. He worked at several restaurants as a cook and would cook for his family and friends quite often but mostly during the football and holiday seasons. Jason’s two favorite shows were The Oval and Sista’s. He would make sure the “parents”, his dad and stepmom, was home so they could all discuss the show afterward.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Frances Kimbrough Dirden; brother, James Dirden; grandparents, Herman (Annie) Dirden and Ammos (Christine) Kimbrough; aunt, Barbara Mathews; and uncles, Herman Dirden Jr. and Ronald Lawson.
