Jean Alice Lampkin (LiL Jean) was born on March 16, 1933, in Pittsburg, PA and raised in Dolomite, Alabama to the late Nathaniel and Corrine Chatman.
Jean departed this life peacefully on August 8, 2022, in the arms of her loving daughter Jeannette Glenn. Jean had a way of doing
things the way she wanted she was blessed to have had a great family vacation which allowed her to witness the beautiful wedding of her grandson David and De’Nadia Brannon in Cancun, Mexico and smiling to the very end.
Jean graduated from Westfield High School in Dolomite, Alabama and moved Cleveland, Ohio in 1958 in her early adulthood. She was loving wife to the late Effie Lampkin Jr. and “Granny” was known for her ways in the kitchen that sweet potato pies, mac & cheese, bake chicken just to name a few and we all knew that you could always get a meal from Lil Jean
Jean was an active member of the Westfield Alumni where she served as the president and vice president for many years. She loved to party and travel while spending quality time with her family and was always the life of the party and if anything could bring a smile to her face was her family and friends.
Jean leaves to cherish her memories of her life: daughters, Sharon Williams (John deceased), Bernard Manuel, Melinda (deceased) Jessie Brannon, Vanessa Baker (Anthony), Jeannette (James) Glenn; sister Barbara Bowman; two sisters-in law Azella
Lampkin, Bobbie Williams; grandchildren James Stallings, Marsharia Willams, Carmen Manuel (Spivey) Latrice Williams, Lachell Williams, Kenisha Davis, David Brannon, Derrick Brannon, Bernard Manuel, Dominick Glenn, Danielle Glenn; and a host of great grandchildren (25), great-great grandchildren (11), and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
