Jeffrey Lewis Carter was born on September 21, 1957, to Norma Deaine Carter in Cleveland, Ohio. Jeff attended Grand Valley High School in Oberlin, Ohio. During his high school years, he ran track and played football. Jeff graduated from high school in 1975, attended college and became an engineer. Jeff’s stepfather Edward Williams, and sister Sarah Carter preceded him in death.
Jeff surrendered his life to Christ in April 2019, joined New Spirit Revival and was baptized the following month.
Jeff spent the last 14 years of his life at what is affectionately called the “Euclid House.” While living there Jeff created a special family filled with God, life, love, laughter, and recovery. Jeff enjoyed participating in several activities of I’m In Transition’s Euclid House such as Morning Devotion (he always wanted to be one of the readers), and the Friday Meeting. Jeff also enjoyed eating and loved sweet treats, especially ice-cream and butterfingers candy bar. Jeff was also fond of watching TV and had an exceptional collection of antennas. He even had a satellite in his room! Jeff was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jeff leaves to cherish his memory Nerrissa Calloway, Jason Calloway, Jennifer Calloway, Wanda Powell, and his I’m In Transition family.
