Jessie Lee James, Jr. (aka Butch) of Akron, OH, beloved son, brother, uncle and cousin to many passed away August 24, 2018. Jessie was born in Montgomery, AL July 6, 1955 to Estella and the late Jessie Lee James, Sr.
Butch was a self-taught tailor who made suits, pants, shirts, etc. After graduation from John R. Buchtel High School in 1975 Butch went to Chicago for a while with Uncle Sonny Man, who was a tailor as well. We are sure he taught him some of his skills. He then went to Florida and lived there until he came back home in June, 2000.
Jessie, as some may know him as “Butch” would say he was funny and a talker. He would talk so you could hardly get a word in, and he would always say “you know, you know”.
Jessie is preceded in death by his father, Jessie Lee James, Sr; brothers, Donald James and Todd D. James. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Estella Bushner; sister, Rhonda (Angelo) Hodges; brother, Timothy (Lisa) Bushner; sister-in-law, Lisa James; special brother, Kenneth Brisbon; aunts, Elizabeth Patterson, Rebecca Crosby, Dorothy Brisbon and a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, relatives and friends.
