Joann Dorsey Terrell, 77, answered the call and entered Heaven’s gate on Christmas Day. She came to Akron at an early age from Douglasville, Georgia. She went to Akron Public Schools and graduated from Central High School in 1960. After graduation, she started working for Summit County Welfare Department, retiring in 1995. Joann enjoyed life being with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Dorsey; father, Albert Dorsey; sisters, Betty Reid, Sandra (Solomon) Crockett of Pasadena, CA and Karen (Robert) Davis of Houston, TX, and brother, William Dorsey of Akron, OH.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted daughter, Crystal Terrell; brother, Larry (Ann) Dorsey; sisters, Catherine Gaiter, all of Akron, and Dorothy Arnold of Douglasville, GA; special friend, Shirley Quinney and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
