On February 12, 1941, a baby boy entered the life of the late James Monroe and Mildred Inez Jones McJunkin. This baby boy was named Joe Douglas McJunkin. Joe’s early childhood life was enjoyable. He played Jack Stones, marbles, jumped rope, and played ball. He enjoyed playing in the family’s pond even though he had not learned to swim at that time. Joe joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Marietta, SC at an early age, attended Sunday school and church services regularly. He was baptized in the South Saluda River, Marietta, SC.

Joe was not only trustworthy but diligent with his duties. Joe taught his sister, Eleanor Jean, to drive a stick shift truck. He was known to say to his mother, “If you buy some screen and a door hinge I will build another kitchen screen door for you.”

To this union two children were born, Daughter; Cynthia Maria and son; Joseph Douglas. Joe continued his education earning his Bachelor of Science Degree (Management Major) Cum Laude, from Dyke College, Cleveland, OH, 1983. His Objective was a challenging position of responsibility in Credit Management, using his skills in leadership, analysis communications and problem solving.
