John W. Hutcherson affectionately known as J.W or Jake was born on September 19, 1940, in Rondo, Arkansas to Isaiah (Jack) Hutcherson and Viola Hutcherson, both preceded him in death. He was the eldest of 5 children: James (Jamie), Nathaniel, Verna, and Darryl. James, Verna, and Darryl preceded him in death as well. John was educated in the Cleveland Municipal School District and graduated from East Tech High School in 1959 where he was an avid basketball player. Later in life, John engaged in running and practicing yoga to ensure a long healthy life.
John married Beverly Munn in 1960. To this union two children were born Jonathan and Sharon.
John began his employment with Gould whose name was later changed to Imperial Clevite for 29 years as a welder and foreman. He worked for Meyer Products for 26 years as a welder. He established many wonderful and lasting friendships at each of these places. John retired on June 15, 2019. After retiring John spent most of his time watching westerns and telling stories about the good old days.
The Lord called him home during the early afternoon hours on Friday, February 16,2024 after a lengthy illness. John will be deeply missed. It was a blessing to know him as son, brother,
father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory; one brother Nathaniel of Riverside, CA, one son Jonathan D. Hutcherson of Cleveland Heights, OH, one daughter Sharon Harris of Euclid, OH, two grandsons: Jonathan, Phillip, one granddaughter Jasmine, two great granddaughters Malaysia, Gianni: two nieces Shawnda, Lyndsey and a host of other relatives and friends.
