With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life of John Easley, who was born on September 4, 1950 in Baldwyn, Mississippi to Alberta and A.T. Easley. After a lifetime spent traveling the open road and providing for those he loved, he departed this life on July 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to his family.

John moved to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1967 and married the woman with whom he built a lifetime of memories in 1976. Together they built a family that became the center of his world.

Before pursuing the career he truly loved, John worked in a factory as an inspector. Encouraged and taught by his brother Paul, he became a professional truck driver—a career he embraced with pride. Whether driving locally or across long-haul routes, he was known for his exceptional work ethic, dedication, and reliability. He took immense pride in providing for his family and was a dedicated provider.

The open road wasn’t just where he worked—it was where he felt at home. Every mile he traveled reflected his unwavering commitment to providing for those he loved.

Outside of work, John enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved visiting local casinos and taking casino trips. A true foodie, he never passed up a good meal. Some of his favorites included beans and cornbread, ribs, pork chops, steaks, seafood, cakes, cookies, and ice cream.

More than anything, John cherished his family. He was a kind, loving, and selfless man whose greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He delighted in giving his grandchildren whatever their hearts desired and treasured every moment shared with them. Although he was known for his strong work ethic, those who knew him best knew that his greatest accomplishment was the love he had for his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, A.T. Easley, and his brother, Paul Easley Sr..

Those who will forever honor his legacy include his devoted wife, Jessie Easley; his loving mother, Alberta Easley; his two treasured children, Tameka Easley and Derrick (Courtney) Easley; his cherished grandchildren, Austin Easley, Olivia Easley and Asher Easley; his siblings, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Gill, Ruby Easley, Eddie (Janice) Easley; together with his beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and all who had the privilege to know him.

His life was a testament to hard work, unconditional love, and unwavering dedication to his family. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the family he loved so deeply.
