Johnita D. Turner, age 70, Came to rest unexpectedly on October27, 2022.
Johnita Davis Turner was born on February 21, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama to Mr. Willie West Davis and Ms Mary Jo Broadnax. The family later moved to South Bend, Indiana 1956, eventually settling in Cleveland, Ohio in 1957.
She attended John D. Rockefeller Elementary School, Wilson Junior High School and East Technical High School in Cleveland, Ohio. During her high school years she worked with the School Neighborhood Youth Corps Summer Program. She graduated from East Technical High School as a member of the class of 1970.
She completed her banking certification and began working at Society National Corporation (later Key Bank) in 1970 where she held various positions over a 27 year career.
On June 26, 1982 she married Larry Turner, her best friend and soulmate at the Old Stone Church on Cleveland’s Public Square.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Mr. Willie West Davis and Mrs. Mary Jo Jollar (nee Broadnax), and 2 brothers Charles E. Davis and Jeffrey C. Jollar.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Larry Turner; children Aaron, Richard, Amanda, Venus and Tony, eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, two brothers, Morris E. Davis and Gerald H. Jollar, and one sister, Angella Brown. She is also survived by multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
