Johnnie Mae Conway “sister” 98, passed December 23, 2017 after an extensive illness. She was born in Lucy, Tennessee on December 8, 1919 to the late Andrew Jackson and Ophelia Harris. She lived in Akron, Ohio for many years.
Johnnie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 12 years old in St. Paul Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Reverend J. W. Jones. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, serving on the Prayer Band and Usher Board until her health failed. She was a member of Arlington Church of God until her departure from this life.
Johnnie is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Conway; brother, Jacob Jackson; sister, Georgia Ware; grandsons, Darryl Conway and Eddie Conway, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Eddie J. Conway, of Akron, OH; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; devoted niece, Joyce Haines; special friend, Lois Cannon, and a host of relatives and friends.
