Joseph (Joe) Martin Warren, affectionately known as Martin, was born January 17, 1944 to Joseph and Helen Sophronia Warren. Joe had one brother, Russell Curtis Warren (Brenda), who preceded him in death. Joe graduated from East Technical High School in 1962 and attended Cleveland Technical College.
Joe worked various jobs before accepting a position at the United States Postal Service (USPS). At the USPS, Joe served as a maintenance technician and was known as the Tacky Tech. Joe was promoted to Manager of Maintenance and retired after 30 years at USPS. After retirement, he went on to work an additional 10 years at Professional Transportation, Inc. where he transported railway workers to their various duty locations.
Joe had three children from a previous marriage to Gwendolyn Cohill Warren. He later married Alicia Warren of 45 years who had one daughter. Joe was a beloved brother-in-law to Anita Carter, Elsie Whitfield and Brenda Warren.
Joe and Alicia loved to travel, dance and drink socially. Joe was also an avid tennis and racquetball player. He attended The Living Truth Center For Better Living in East Cleveland. Joe was an active member of Men Expressing Christ, Youth Expressing Christ, Sunday School, Transformation (Church Bookstore), Podium Speaker and a long-serving member of the Living Truth Center Board of Directors.
Joe leaves to celebrate his well-lived life: his devoted wife Alicia; four children, Eric (Sharon), Charisse (Abou), Brian (Yvette) and Marla (William Williams); eight grandchildren, Quantelle (Lashana), Iliyaas, Imani, Alissa, Jahlil, Jayla, Ari and Micah; and one great grandchild, Amina Love.
Joseph Martin Warren leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
