Joseph Prim was born in Repton, Alabama to George Prim and Bertha Autry. He moved to Akron in 1946 and attended Garfield High School, where he graduated in 1958. Joseph worked for Firestone Rubber and Akron Beacon Journal. He married Juanita Jewell in 1961, and they were married for 61 years.
He loved playing basketball, and was still playing after reaching the age of 70. He was known for his “skyhook” shot.
Joseph is survived by wife, Juanita; sons, Joel and Jerome (Tresha) Prim, and his grandchildren.
