Joseph Clifton Wilburn, affectionately known as “Joe,” was born on July 22, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Mossouri Wilburn. He was the third of six children: one sister; Verdie, and four brothers; Kervan, Charles, Patrick, and Ervin.
Joe accepted Christ at an early age, a foundation that guided his life. He honed his artistic abilities over the years to become a very gifted artist.
Joe attended John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland, Ohio and completed his education after joining the United States Coast Guard. He fulfilled his aspirations of being an entrepreneur by starting his own lawn care and handy man business. As a reflection of his unwavering faith, he named the business, “Lord’s Grounds Keeper- God grows it – Wilburn mows it”
He was known for his vibrant personality, quick wit, and the joy he brought to every room.
Joe cared passionately about his family and friends. He loved playing cards, riding bikes, tennis, shooting pool, and listening to music with his grandkids, family and friends. He was always the life of the party. Most days he left you laughing, whether you wanted to or not.
Joe leaves to cherish his beautiful spirit and loving memories, his daughter, LaWanda Clack, his sister Verdie, brother Patrick, Nieces; Aysha, Tanisha, Gabrielle, Carla, and Charla, Nephew; James Patrick; grandchildren Adrielle, Latrelle, and Brielle; and a host of cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Mossouri Wilburn, his brothers; Kervan, Charles and Ervin, his son Andre, and his step-son Dione Pollard.
Joe’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched with his humor, generosity, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
