OBITUARY
Joy Marie Peterson was born March 31st, 1937, in Barnesville Georgia, to the late Elizabeth Butler and the late Cam Few Sr. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Julius, John Wesley Mattie Ruth, David, Michael, and Ronald.
Once she completed high school she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. She met and married the late Emory Eugene Peterson and from this union, they had six children, Deverill (Annette) Robin, Andrea, John (deceased) Steven (Tammy) and Bryant.
Some of her passions were listening to gospel music via WABQ, enjoyed cooking she was known for her delicious fried chicken. She also made German Chocolate cake for the holidays from scratch to everyone’s delight. Doing Crossword puzzles and playing Jeopardy. Granny loved playing Spades. She was an avid sports fan, notably she was the co-captain of her high school basketball team. Most of all she loved the Cleveland Cavaliers!
To cherish her memory, she leaves her grandchildren; Fawn (Marcus), Kenneth, Joshua (Alanna), Leah, April, Jonathan, Kymberly, Desmond, Allen Jay, Devon, Bryant, Darren, Carlon, Bryson, Ayden, and Tristan. Great grandchildren, Liberty, Dodger, Zoe, Gavin, Onyx, Eseli, Dakota, Shanyla, TeAijah, Azuri, and Shannijah, and a host nieces and nephews. Let us not forget her Great grand puppy “Vegas”!
Lovingly known to all as “Granny,” her quiet spirit and soft voice reflected the strong matriarch that she was. Will be missed by all.
