Ms. Joyce A. Tettey-Fio, 61, passed away surrounded by family on January 28, 2024 after fighting against a long illness.

Joyce was born on March 12, 1962 in Akron, Ohio to the union of Joyce Howard & Albert Howard Sr., both of which proceeded her in death. She was the third of four children, Albert Jr., Kenneth, and Dianna.

Joyce was united in holy matrimony to Eugene Tettey-Fio on August 27, 1982. To this union were born three children, Ama, Afi, and Adjoa. Joyce received her education from Kent State University. Joyce worked for Document Technology Systems as an administrative assistant and office manager until begrudgingly taking disability.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, walking, biking, and listening to music, and as a staunch supporter of the Cleveland Browns, never missed an opportunity to root on the home team. Joyce had a zest for life and was a devoted mother and friend.

Joyce is survived by her siblings, Albert Jr., Kenneth, and Dianna; daughters Ama, Afi, and Adjoa; nephews Brandon, Albert III, and Samuel; sister-in-law Janice; soon to be daughter-in-law Liz; soon to be son-in-law Josh; and countless cherished friends and family.

What a great friend I had in Joyce during our years together at St. Anthony's in Akron's North Hill. Her smile, her laughter and most of all her friendship through my good time and my bad. Joyce was always there with me. May she Rest in Peace. I know I will never forget her.

I have never felt the instant love that this woman gave me. Joyce was all acceptance of love and I strive to live my life like her

My deepest condolences to all of Joyce’s family members. Joyce was a delight to be around in any situation. We shared some good times along with much laughter watching our daughters grow up. Adjoa and Julianna attended gradeschool through high school together. They remain friends today.
